Micapass builds an on-chain AML compliance solution and a client-side KYC product aimed at DeFi protocols and web3 users. The company argues that pre-screening users and sharing a digital verification of legitimacy lets private data remain off-chain while avoiding repeated KYC screenings across protocols. Micapass says this approach would allow a user to undergo KYC once and be accepted by different DeFi protocols. The startup raised €240,000 to continue development of its KYC product. The investment was received via Lithuanian innovation lab Super How? and Baltics accelerator and VC fund Firstpick. CEO and co-founder Gintarė Košubienė has framed the product as a response to growing illicit crypto flows and the complexity of wallet attribution on public blockchains.
