Vkansee develops a secure under-glass, patented ultra-thin optical fingerprint sensor that enables biometric security for payment applications, data storage, access control and other uses across mobile and connected devices. The company plans to use the newly raised capital for R&D, new product development, and to manufacture and distribute its sensors to meet demand for higher biometric authentication security on laptops, phones and other mobile devices. Immediately the funding will support production of test wafers for manufacturers and suppliers to evaluate the sensors for device integration in 2017.
