Osmosis is developing a mass personalization platform that leverages smartphones and the Internet of Things to deliver 1-to-1 communications at live events. Initial applications target sports and concerts, providing customized itineraries and personalized welcome messages that can integrate into a team or event producer’s app. The software aims to streamline the live event experience for consumers while freeing on-the-ground staff from tasks like ticket scanning and giving clients insight into attendee preferences. Osmosis began inside Synapse and spun out into its own corporation in January 2015; Synapse is a Seattle-based product development firm. Russ Stromberg, a wireless technology veteran and former Synapse account director, leads the company and is currently its only employee. The company plans to convert key contractors to employees and hire additional staff, and it intends to expand the platform beyond live sports and concerts.
