MAX BioPharma is a privately held, preclinical-stage biopharmaceutical firm pioneering Oxysterol Therapeutics®, a platform that turns naturally occurring oxysterol lipids into small-molecule drugs. Its lead asset, Oxy210, is an orally available antifibrotic and anti-inflammatory compound designed to treat metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis (MASH) and other fibrotic diseases. Because Oxy210 can be synthesized from inexpensive raw materials and remains stable at room temperature, the company believes it could offer a cost-effective alternative to peptide-based therapies that require cold-chain logistics. Preclinical data indicate that Oxy210 simultaneously addresses inflammation, fibrosis, senescence and metabolic dysfunction, suggesting potential as a disease-modifying therapy that could be used alone or alongside GLP-1 agonists. MAX BioPharma holds a growing intellectual-property portfolio around its oxysterol chemistry. The company is currently syndicating a $13 million Series A round to finance Phase 1a/1b first-in-human studies of Oxy210. Technomark Life Sciences has signed on as strategic lead investor and partner in the program.
