Aurrigo develops autonomous airside logistics and passenger vehicles including the Auto-Cargo and an eight-passenger Auto-Shuttle. The company’s Auto-Cargo is a fully electric, zero-emission vehicle capable of carrying a total payload of 16,500kg. The Ramp Ready project will deploy two Auto-Cargo vehicles and an Auto-Shuttle at East Midlands Airport over the next nine months to prove a multi-vehicle fleet framework. The programme funding will support enhanced environmental testing, expanded simulation capabilities, and modular low-volume production techniques to reduce costs and accelerate scalability. Ramp Ready is intended to generate operational data to support commercial readiness for both cargo and passenger autonomous vehicles. The initiative is one of four Aurrigo International projects that together have received approximately £1m in funding to advance sustainable airport and transport innovations.
