Leesa sells luxury mattresses direct-to-consumer online and is certified as a B Corp. The company plans to use new funding to invest in the brand, launch a series of new products, and extend the reach and impact of its partnerships, events and celebrity relationships. Leesa highlights long-term ambassadors Michael Phelps and Aly Raisman as part of its marketing and partnership strategy. Launched at the beginning of 2015 by CEO David Wolfe and mattress industry veteran Jamie Diamonstein, the company delivers products to the U.S., U.K., Germany and Canada. Headquartered in Virginia Beach, Va., with UK offices in Manchester, Leesa previously raised £5.4m ($7m) in a Series A through TitleCard Capital in mid-2015. Leesa designs and manufactures layered foam mattresses and sells them direct to consumers online. Its foam-based, multi-layer construction is marketed as a universal comfort luxury mattress that can be compressed and vacuum-packed for cheaper, easier delivery. The company offers a 100-night risk-free trial and sells a double mattress for about £590. Leesa launched formally in the U.S. this January and is also operating in its home market of the U.K. The startup won a competition that included mentoring from Sir Richard Branson on Necker Island. The company projects about $30 million in sales in its first year and has a reported post-money valuation of $45 million.
