  • Multiverse Computing

    Participated · Series B · Jun 2025

Founded in 2019 in San Sebastián, Multiverse Computing builds AI solutions inspired by quantum computing techniques—notably tensor-network approaches—to compress large language models and produce energy-efficient AI. The company says its technology can reduce model size and energy use by up to 95%, deliver 4x–12x faster inference, and cut costs by 50%–80%, enabling deployment on constrained devices like smartphones, laptops and satellites. Multiverse has launched a new generation of optimized models, including an open-source model and a family of compressed models designed for resource-limited environments. It has formed strategic partnerships with firms such as Cohere, Axelera AI, Plain Concepts, Inetum, EY and PwC to accelerate adoption in finance, energy, logistics, space, health and defense. Financially, Multiverse closed a €189M Series B in June 2025 (led by Bullhound Capital and including SETT and other investors) and is currently finalizing a larger round that could total €500M, backed in part by a €107M SETT commitment.

  • Exablox

    Led · Series C · May 2015

Exablox provides OneBlox, a cloud-managed, scale-out object-based storage solution that pairs a hardware architecture with integrated, enterprise-grade software. The software includes inline deduplication, continuous data protection and disaster recovery. Exablox is led by CEO Douglas Brockett and was founded in 2010. It is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California. Financially, the company has raised $45.5M in total funding to date. Exablox, founded in 2010 and based in Sunnyvale, California, provides a cloud, object-based storage management application. Its platform uses a proprietary object store integrated with a distributed file system to deliver inline deduplication, continuous data protection, disaster recovery and remote replication. The solution is designed to enable IT organizations to nearly instantaneously scale storage capacity, performance and availability to meet current business needs. It supports scalability for SMB and NFS-based applications and is deployed across industries including higher education, legal, medical and manufacturing. In February 2015 the company raised $16M in a Series C, bringing total funding to $38.5M. Investors in the Series C included strategic backer Dell Ventures alongside existing investors DCM Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners and US Venture Partners. Exablox emerged from stealth to tackle the enterprise storage market with a cloud-managed scale-out storage solution for businesses’ valuable unstructured data. The company says current storage offerings suffer from runaway costs, complicated installation, cumbersome management, and lack of data security, and it is pursuing a "third generation file approach" aimed at the mid-market. Its team includes veterans from Data Domain, Veritas, NetApp, Omneon, GreenPlum, Ocarina, and Bell Labs. Exablox was founded in 2010 and says its approach has shown early traction with customer and partner validation. The company raised $22M to drive product development, expand partnerships, and support growth. Norwest highlighted the expanding NAS market (expected to exceed $12 billion by 2016) as part of its investment thesis.

  • Zadara Storage
