Secret City Trails offers web-based "discovery games" that guide travellers through local and hidden spots with location-based riddles and directions. Players choose a city and game, receive a start location and web-app link via email, and play at their own pace. The platform provides a no-code framework for locals to create trails; creators are paid both for creating trails and each time a game is sold. The company currently offers more than 120 games covering 50 European cities plus Singapore. Founded in Amsterdam and now based in Lisbon, the startup emphasizes sustainability, spreading tourism off the beaten path and supporting local businesses. CEO Kristina Palovicova framed the product as an alternative to traditional guided tours, focused on local benefit and creative monetization for contributors.
