KTrade operates a mobile-first online brokerage app that enables customers to trade equities, bonds, commodities and mutual funds with low-cost commissions. Launched in 2019, the app has become Pakistan’s most downloaded investment app and has over 200,000 users. The company targets domestic retail investors and roughly 9 million overseas Pakistanis in the Middle East, Canada and the U.K. Management aims to grow users to 10 million by 2023 and sees Covid-driven interest in online trading as an inflection point. KTrade plans to use its recent funding to expand marketing and investor education, including online courses and fantasy stock-picking contests. The product strategy emphasizes education, low fees and broad asset access to drive retail adoption in Pakistan.
