Overview
Launched in February 2014, the UniCredit Start Lab Fintech Accelerator is a Milan-based accelerator searching for entrepreneurs in Financial Technologies. The Accelerator program, lasting four months, provides startups with co-working space in the heart of Milan, an intensive acceleration program, qualified mentoring, networking, and 10k€ to cover primary expenses, workshops and events. The 4 month program will end with pitches in front of an elite audience of investors and subsequently, if business targets are reached, an additional 8 month light acceleration program will reinforce the startup fundamentals.

Qurami is a Rome-based provider of a mobile app that lets users reserve a spot in line by interacting with existing electronic ticketing machines. The app shows the exact number of people in line in real time, provides estimated waiting times, and notifies users when their turn is approaching. Founded in 2011 by CEO Roberto Macina, Qurami's service is used at museums, hospitals, public administration offices and universities. It has more than 150,000 downloads. Clients include Rome universities (La Sapienza, LUISS, Roma Tre, Tor Vergata), hospitals (including Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic), municipal agencies and other public organizations. The company will use the funds to expand operations in Italy and abroad.
