  Agrasys is an agrifood biotechnology company headquartered in Barcelona that applies advanced breeding and biotech methods to create novel, higher-value crops. Its flagship product is Tritordeum, a cereal launched more than two years ago that blends favourable agronomic performance with enhanced nutritional properties. To push Tritordeum’s development and market rollout, the company secured a €200,000 participative loan from the Spanish public lender Enisa. Earlier in 2015 it also obtained €210,000 from the Ministry of Economy’s Retos programme and €314,000 from the CDTI, adding to its pool of non-dilutive funding. Venture capital firms Inveready and Uninvest hold equity stakes in Agrasys, having previously backed the business. While the company has not disclosed revenue or user figures, the combination of public and private support indicates confidence in its technology and commercial prospects.
