  EnPowered provides an on-bill payment platform for the energy industry that lets customers convert capital investments into operating expenses to accelerate cleantech purchases. Its Payments product was developed in stealth and recently launched to simplify and speed purchasing of energy solutions and to help partners win previously unwinnable projects. The platform uses machine learning to predict electricity price spikes and shift usage, which the company says has unlocked $184 million in customer energy savings and can reduce electricity costs by an average of 48%. Founded in 2015 in Waterloo, Canada, EnPowered has grown headcount from 5 to 40 over the past 18 months and is expanding its North American partner network. With CAD $12M raised across Seed and Seed+ rounds, the company is using the capital to expand across the U.S., recruit in core functions, and develop partnerships with hundreds of cleantech companies. EnPowered is also building the "Virtual Energy Movement," an ecosystem of like-minded companies focused on adoption of flexible energy assets to help the grid shift to renewables.
