Pick Protection develops the Personal Guardian, a monitored personal alarm that ties into mobile technology. When activated, the Personal Guardian texts pre-determined contacts with the user’s location, turns the user’s mobile into a recording device, and uses GPS to pinpoint the user. The product targets lone workers — the UK has an estimated six million lone workers, with roughly five percent currently protected by secured monitoring. Unipart Group will assist with product delivery. The company expects a UK launch of the Personal Guardian in early 2017. Financially, Pick Protection raised £60,000 from an angel investment syndicate last year and has now secured an additional £744,000.
