Hapi is a Peruvian wealthtech platform focused on democratizing access to U.S. stock markets for retail investors across Latin America. The company offers stock trading on American exchanges and has expanded into cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Shiba, USDC) through a partnership with Apex LLC. Hapi is rolling out features including American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), scheduled stock trading, a prime membership with immediate funds availability, and cross-border fund transfers using USDC. Founded by Dusko Kelez, Billy Caballero and Piero Sifuentes, CEO Dusko Kelez said the new funding will strengthen growth and improve the user trading experience. The startup has grown from 10,000 users in October to an anticipated 500,000 users by Q1 2024 and serves customers in Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador, Venezuela and Peru, with expanding presence in Central America and the Caribbean. Financially, Hapi has total funding of USD $4.3M (including $2.7M from earlier rounds) after the latest $1.6M raise, and is preparing for a Series A.
