Overview

Vicente Capital Partners is a Los Angeles-based investment firm providing capital to growth companies. We have a successful track record of investing in expansion capital, buyout, shareholder recapitalization, and consolidation transactions. We focus on companies with proven products and services and an established customer base. We do not invest in start-ups or turn-around situations. Not limited to specific industries, our investment strategy has led us to selectively pursue attractive opportunities across a broad range of business sectors including: business process outsourcing, healthcare services, internet services, post-secondary education, environmental products, and aerospace & defense. Our goal is to develop long-term working partnerships with our management teams. In addition to financial resources, we provide our portfolio companies with strategic and operational guidance to help them achieve their growth and profitability objectives. We target growth businesses with $5 million to $50 million of revenue and commit between $5 million and $20 million of capital to each investment. Our investment mandate is broad, and we approach transactions with considerable flexibility to deliver capital solutions that are customized for the growth and liquidity needs of owners.

  • Campus Steps

    Participated · Series A · Apr 2015

Campus Steps provides mobile and web solutions that 'step' students through college readiness — from course planning and college selection to applications and financial organization — and connects them with counselors via text, messaging, or email. The platform leverages data-driven insights and a network of on-demand counselors to make college and career guidance more accessible. After a September 2014 beta, Campus Steps reached over 50,000 student visits per month, 20,000 student subscribers, and active accounts in roughly 6,300 U.S. high schools (about 20%). The company targets the roughly 25 million middle and high school students underserved by today's counseling system and cites a 471-to-1 average student-to-counselor ratio. Recent executive hires include CEO Mark Eastwood, CTO Dave Meyer, and CPO Jeanne Anderson. The company says the new funding will support rapid product development and increased marketing.
