QuantuMDx builds the Q-POC™ sample-to-answer PCR device designed for rapid molecular point-of-care testing in settings such as hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and workplaces. Its first test, a SARS-CoV-2 detection assay, is CE‑IVD marked and already on the market. The company plans to expand the Q-POC™ assay menu to include a multiplex respiratory panel, sexually transmitted infections, and HPV, and to increase the platform's multiplexing capabilities. QuantuMDx has operations and strategic partnerships across the United States, Asia, Australasia, Europe, and Africa. The business secured a £15 million equity investment to fund further development and evolution of the Q-POC™ platform. It is also pursuing a Cooperation Agreement with Sansure Biotech to accelerate commercialisation in China and other South‑East Asian markets and to explore manufacturing optimisation and assay portfolio broadening. QuantuMDx is a privately held multinational life sciences tools and technology developer headquartered in the United Kingdom with operations and partners in the United States, Asia, Europe and Africa. Its flagship product, Q-POC, is a low-cost handheld molecular laboratory designed to deliver sample-to-result molecular analysis in 15–20 minutes using disposable cartridges. The device integrates sample concentration, DNA extraction, amplification and electrical or fluorescent detection, and can operate without water or a stable power source. Q-POC can analyse samples such as blood, sputum or tumour tissue and aims to identify pathogens and antimicrobial resistance to enable right-first-time prescribing. The company targets use in clinics, pharmacies, hospitals, laboratories and field settings to address diseases including tuberculosis, sexually transmitted infections and cancer. Helsinn Investment Fund’s financing will be used to support continued development and early commercialisation of Q-POC; Helsinn will also take a seat on QuantuMDx’s Business Advisory Board.
