Phrase Health is an EHR workflow management company based in Philadelphia led by Founder and CEO Dr. Marc Tobias. Its Outcomes product helps health systems understand the impact of EHR interventions (for example, alerts and order sets) on clinical measures. The company plans to use the awarded funds to develop a content library of Quality Improvement (QI) templates for Outcomes. Those QI templates are designed to align with federally reportable metrics and financial incentives to streamline evaluation and optimization of clinical decision support tools. The funding supports Phrase Health’s efforts to enable continuous, data-driven improvement of care and to ensure improved outcomes and optimal patient care. Phrase Health provides a web-based SaaS platform that uses electronic health record (EHR) data and collaborative tools to help providers assess, monitor, and improve clinical processes and quality measures. The product includes analytics dashboards and collaboration features to make EHR data actionable and to link EHR interventions (alerts, order sets) to quality outcomes. The company was founded in 2018 by board-certified clinical informatics physicians after spinning out technology developed within the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Customers include academic health systems, community health networks, and stand-alone pediatric hospitals. Phrase Health said it will use recent investment proceeds to support growth initiatives and to accelerate research and development to enhance its capabilities. The company has also received a National Institutes of Health STTR grant and previously raised funding from Sequoia’s Scout program and BioAdvance in 2019.
