  360fly produces a single-lens 360-degree camera and companion mobile apps that let users shoot, edit, share and live-stream immersive video. Led by CEO Peter Adderton and based in Aliso Viejo, California, the company sells consumer 360-degree camera hardware and offers mobile live streaming through a partnership with Livit. It is launching a new 4K camera that will be available at retail later this month. The company plans to use the financing to expand worldwide sales and marketing for its 360-degree camera offerings. 360fly will continue R&D on its software and hardware roadmap with a specific focus on machine learning technology. It also plans product integration with partners such as Giro and Bell Helmets and supports sharing to social platforms like Facebook and YouTube. 360fly is a camera and software platform that produces a single-lens, stitch-less panoramic video with a 360-degree horizontal by 240-degree vertical field of view. Founded out of Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute and led by CEO Tim O’Neil, the company offers the 360fly camera and the 360fly MICRO smartphone lens attachment to simultaneously record everything around users. It also operates 360fly.com video hosting and sharing and develops mobile apps for iOS and Android. The company recently partnered with VOXX Electronics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of VOXX International Corporation, to deliver its panoramic cameras and software to market. 360fly intends to use new funding to increase software and product development as it works toward a Fall 2014 consumer launch of the 360fly camera, 360fly MICRO, its hosting/sharing service, and mobile apps. The company is based in Pittsburgh and Virginia.
