Thread is a Tustin, Calif.-based provider of decentralized clinical research that offers a proprietary decentralized research platform and supporting services. Its product is used by biopharma, CROs and life science organizations to remotely capture data from participants and sites during, in-between and in lieu of in-clinic visits. The platform supports Virtual Visits and includes features such as eConsent, eCOA/ePRO, sensors, reminders and telehealth to enable remote data capture, hybrid virtual studies and fully decentralized studies across key therapeutic areas. Thread says its solutions reduce study launch timelines and study budgets by bringing studies from the clinic to patients’ homes. Led by President John Reites and COO Sean Vassilaros, the company intends to use newly raised funds to continue expanding operations and business reach. In August 2020 the company raised $50M in funding.
