Smitten combines personality-based games, interactive profiles and icebreakers to make it easier for strangers to form meaningful connections. The app was launched in 2020 and has positioned itself at the intersection of dating, gaming and entertainment. Smitten reports more than 200 million swipes to date, a 30%+ stickiness rate, and that over 60% of matches result in a post-match interaction versus 11% on Tinder. The founders say the product is designed to jumpstart conversations regardless of users' conversation skills by surfacing game results as chat icebreakers. The company plans to use new funding to grow its team and expand into new markets as it targets Generation Z globally. Smitten is founded by David Orn Simonarson (CEO) and Asgeir Visir (Designer) and was released with CTO Magnus Olafsson.
