Participated · Equity · May 2017
Cuatroochenta builds bespoke and productized cloud digital solutions and cybersecurity services, combining custom development with its own products (CheckingPlan and FAMA) and third-party tools as a Microsoft Gold Partner. The company serves sectors such as Facility Service & Management and has clients including 50 hospitals, airports, RTVE and universities, and supported the IFEMA hospital deployment during the pandemic. Through its Sofistic brand it is a leader in cybersecurity in Central America, securing banking and critical infrastructure like El Dorado airport. Its solutions reach more than 10 million users across 21 countries and the company employs over 200 people with offices in Spain and several Latin American countries. Management says it is seeing early results from a product-led SaaS strategy and plans to accelerate inorganic growth and integrate complementary companies to expand its product and services offering. The Inveready investment is intended to provide resources and experience to execute this next growth stage. Cuatroochenta, founded in 2011 by Alfredo R. Cebrián (CEO) and Sergio Aguado (CTO), specializes in end-to-end app development and programming to improve work processes, and also develops proprietary products such as 480interactive. The company builds bespoke apps for large agencies and corporations and runs an innovation ecosystem since 2014, participating in Blast Off Partners and the coworking Espacio Base. It collaborates on educational and community initiatives including MIT4 and the Hackathon Castellón. Cuatroochenta says it has offices across seven countries, including Panama, Bogotá, Utrecht, Buenos Aires, Milan and Los Angeles, and employs about 60 people. The company is pursuing consolidation of its leadership in the Spanish and Latin American TIC markets. Recent fundraising activity is intended to support those expansion and consolidation efforts.
