  Pointstic is a Milan-based company that offers a mobile platform to help retailers and brands increase store traffic, improve customer–product interactions and drive sales. The app lets consumers choose among “missions” — tasks such as taking a photo, scanning a barcode, checking in, or making a video — and earn points redeemable for prizes from partner catalogs. The product was inspired by U.S. models like Shopkick and Checkpoints. Led by CEO Antonio Giannetto, CTO Alessandro Ragonini and Chairman Fabio Pezzotti, the company has seen 80,000 downloads and users have generated 590,000 tasks since launch. Pointstic plans to use new funding to consolidate its leadership in Italy and expand into other European markets, aiming to reach 1 million users by 2014.
