- Vanetta Food
Participated · Grant · Jun 2024
Vanetta Food is a Galician startup founded in 2023 that develops 100% plant-based dishes blending Galician culinary tradition with food‑tech innovation. The company positions its offerings as an alternative to ultra‑processed plant products, emphasizing high nutritional value and authentic flavor. It targets the Horeca channel to place its dishes in restaurants and hospitality. A recent capital increase lifted the company’s valuation by 70% year‑over‑year. Management says the funding will accelerate new product development while demonstrating that plant protein can succeed in hospitality without sacrificing taste or authenticity. Vanetta plans to use the investment to expand production capacity, reinforce its Horeca presence, and consolidate an R&D strategy to democratize vegetable protein. Vanetta Food, founded in 2023, develops the first plant-based factory in Galicia producing products based on traditional plant proteins with an artisanal inspiration. Its catalogue adapts culinary heritage into ready-to-cook, high-protein plant alternatives such as soja estilo zorza gallega, seitan lomo adobado, and prepared vegetal styles (cachopo, milanesa, croquetas). The company targets B2B2C channels and aims to offer sustainable, cruelty-free options for vegans and households reducing meat consumption. In 2024 Vanetta refreshed its brand identity, launched a new website, added new products to its catalogue, and expanded physical shelf presence and online sales. Products are positioned as quick to prepare (around five minutes in a pan) and emphasize local, 100% Galician and 100% plant-based ingredients. The company positions itself around sustainability, high protein content, and combining tradition with innovation.
