Overview

Zero Gravity Labs is building dAIOS, a decentralized AI operating system designed to enable decentralized environments for massive datasets and AI computation. The company plans to use the recent financing to fund development of the dAIOS platform. It raised $40 million in a seed round following a $35 million pre-seed in March. In addition to the seed funding, Zero Gravity Labs secured a $250 million token purchase commitment to draw on liquid digital assets held on exchanges to further support project development. The seed included contributions from Hack VC, Delphi Digital, OKX Ventures, Polygon (and founder Sandeep Nailwal), and Animoca Brands (and founder Yat Siu), among others. The company and its backers framed the funding as part of broader blockchain efforts to explore decentralization for AI and to avoid concentration of large datasets among a few entities. 0G Labs is creating a modular AI blockchain designed to alleviate speed and cost pain points for on-chain AI applications. The platform’s modularity lets developers choose components to configure blockchain systems and applications. The team touts an ultra-high-performance data pipeline with claimed throughput of 50 Gbps compared with competitor rates cited at 1.5 MBps. 0G aims for “infinite capacity” over time by enabling many consensus networks and plans to launch on mainnet in the third quarter. Target use cases include on-chain AI, on-chain gaming, and high-frequency DeFi, with claims that gas costs per transaction will be essentially negligible. Near-term plans are to hire engineers and build market functionality, community, and ecosystem. The company says it is a web3 firm and intends to release a token in the future but has not disclosed details.
