A-SEEDS develops CAR-T cell therapies using piggyBac transposon technology, which the company says yields enhanced and prolonged therapeutic effects and lowers production costs. It has completed preclinical studies for two CAR-T products and is advancing phase 1 clinical trials in collaboration with Shinshu University. The company is building a diversified CAR-T pipeline and focusing on cost-efficient manufacturing. Founded in April 2020 and based in Matsumoto, Nagano, A-SEEDS secured ¥440 million in seed funding to support technology transfers for CAR-T production and to strengthen its organizational and R&D capabilities. The funds will underwrite preparation for U.S. clinical trials planned after 2024, and the company is planning a larger capital raise to support those trials.
