It is expanding into converting medical notes from patient appointments into AI-powered medical codes, a move that positions it against startups like CodaMetrix and features from Epic. Abridge is widely considered a leader in the AI-powered medical scribe market due to early entry and Epic integration. The company was founded by cardiologist Shiv Rao and is seven years old. Abridge provides an enterprise-grade generative AI platform that transforms medical conversations into clinically useful and billable documentation at the point of care.
