ACT Commodities, founded in 2009, is a trading house and market maker in environmental products including CO2 emission allowances and green certificates, operating from Amsterdam with offices in New York and Shanghai. The company acts as the link connecting buyers and sellers of tradeable environmental products and currently trades around 40 products across numerous European and U.S. markets. ACT forecasts turnover of more than €1 billion this year, about four times its 2015 level, reflecting explosive growth. The founders have brought nine managers into stakeholder positions to strengthen management alignment. ACT engaged Marktlink as its M&A advisor to find a financially strong partner. With the new investor the founders plan to scale toward 350 employees and add one or two extra office locations within a few years.
