ActionIQ
11 Madison Avenue 17th Floor, New York, NY, 10010, United States
Overview
ActionIQ provides a customer data platform designed to help enterprises use first-party customer data to deliver personalized experiences across channels. The company is investing in product development, including expanded support for real-time data and analysis. It has signed large enterprise customers in the past year, such as Morgan Stanley, The Hartford, Albertsons, JCPenney, GoPro and The New York Times. ActionIQ says the market shift away from third-party data and greater regulatory/platform restrictions increase demand for its first-party–focused platform. Management describes its plans as more ambitious, targeting both product enhancements and customer growth. The company reported 100% year-over-year revenue growth and says its valuation has risen by more than 250% (valuation not disclosed). ActionIQ is a customer data platform providing self-serve tools that enable enterprises to unify customer data and drive personalized experiences across channels. Founded in 2014 and headquartered in New York, it counts customers such as The New York Times, Condé Nast, American Eagle Outfitters, Vera Bradley and Pandora Media. The company emphasizes a product-first approach designed to activate intelligent actions without relying on heavy consulting or IT services. ActionIQ positions itself ahead of larger marketing clouds by addressing what it calls a data gap between promise and delivery. It raised a $32M Series C led by March Capital Partners and has now raised $75M in total. Most of the new funds are earmarked to expand sales and marketing after earlier rounds were invested heavily in product development. ActionIQ builds a marketing activation platform that corrals large-scale big data into a user-friendly interface for marketers to run and measure campaigns. The product targets the execution stage between campaign planning and performance measurement, enabling non-engineers to use complex data. CEO Tasso Argyros and CTO Nitay Joffe emphasize serving sophisticated B2C marketers across financial, publishing, subscription and retail verticals and the broader global 5000. The company says it has seen higher-than-expected demand and has tripled its customer count since January, driving rapid scaling plans. ActionIQ positions itself against internal IT teams and claims it can handle larger, more complex datasets than many competitors. It has not disclosed valuation but described the new round as a significant increase versus its Series A. ActionIQ provides a SaaS platform that connects multiple data sources—email, CRM, and clickstream—and centralizes them onto a single analytics dashboard for marketers. The product includes an AI layer designed to let marketers focus on strategy and campaigns with no engineering or IT input. Its target customers include Global 2000 companies, B2C brands, and subscription businesses; named customers include Gilt Groupe and Blue Apron. The company plans to use new funding to expand sales and marketing and to further business development. Founded in 2014, ActionIQ is led by founder and CEO Tasso Argyros, who previously founded Aster Data Systems and sold it to Teradata in 2011 for $263 million. The company has just under 40 employees in its New York City office.
