AFYREN
9-11 rue Gutenberg, Clermont-Ferrand, Auvergne, 63100, France
Overview
AFYREN develops bio-based, low-carbon ingredients through innovative fermentation technology for use in sustainable industrial applications. The company is investing in its flagship AFYREN NEOXY biorefinery, which it now fully owns and is upgrading through an ongoing investment program. AFYREN has secured public support for these investments, including a €3 million grant from the Grand Est Region supported by the European Just Transition Fund and prior installments under Bpifrance’s France Relance initiative. Management says the investments aim to reinforce industrial assets, create jobs, and build sustainable skills in the region. The company announced it met the milestones required to obtain the final grant installment, and previously received a €2.2 million final installment in March 2026 under the same program.
