Agrosmart

R. Pereira Tangerino, 128 – Jardim Guanabara, Sao Paulo, SP, Brazil

Overview

Agrosmart is a São Paulo-based digital agtech startup that uses big data, IoT, drones, satellite imagery and machine learning to generate agronomic models and field-level recommendations for seed placement, irrigation and climate risk. Its platform serves farmers across nine countries and corporate customers including Cargill, Syngenta and Coca-Cola, and the company says its tools have helped producers save up to 60% water and 20% energy. The app is available on Google Play and the Apple Store and is designed to work over satellite and low-broadband 3G networks to reach rural users. Agrosmart continuously adds features—from high-precision irrigation algorithms and 7-day forecasts to coffee rust prediction—and says it deploys new capabilities quickly, leveraging IoT, AI and blockchain. Founded in 2014 by CEO Mariana Vasconcelos, the company plans to use new funding to expand its product portfolio, add farmer insurance programs and broaden its presence across the Americas. It also plans to increase headcount across Brazil, the rest of Latin America and potentially North America, and to invest in capex for value-chain equipment rentals.
