AICA
7 Princes Square, Harrogate, England, HG1 1ND, United Kingdom
Overview
AICA develops AI-driven robotics software that combines reinforcement learning and closed-loop force control to give robots a sense of touch and the ability to learn and adapt autonomously. Its approach makes robot programming for complex applications more affordable and enables manufacturers to automate "dirty, dull & dangerous" processes such as heavy-material manipulation and handling chemicals. The company was spun off from the LASA (Learning Algorithms & Systems Laboratory) of EPFL and is led by CEO Baptiste Busch. AICA intends to expand its library of applications and deploy its solutions internationally. The company raised CHF1.2M in funding from investors including Spicehaus Partners, High‑Tech Gründerfonds, and Schaeffler Group. Proceeds will be used to broaden the application library and support international deployment.
