Airly

Ul. Mogilska 43, Kraków, Malopolskie, 31-545, Poland

Overview

Airly offers a comprehensive SaaS solution for air quality monitoring and control via a proprietary sensor network delivering real-time data. The platform enables organisations to monitor air quality, analyse trends and sources, develop targeted initiatives to combat pollution, and track improvements through a dashboard with a report generator, insights, an impact tracker and city ranking. Airly serves local governments, companies and local communities in over 40 countries and works with global brands including JCDecaux, Bolt, E-on, Philips, Skanska and Veolia. It has strategic partnerships with JCDecaux, the NHS and NILU and is a key partner in the EU Horizon 2020 DivAirCity project. The company recently launched the largest air-quality monitoring network in a European city by installing 165 sensors in Warsaw and has similarly large networks in the UK and Jakarta. Led by CEO Wiktor Warchałowski, Airly raised $5.5M in Series A and intends to use the funds to accelerate growth and expand operations and business reach. Airly is a Palo Alto cleantech firm offering an AI-powered platform that provides ultra-local air quality intelligence. It installs sensor networks that measure particulate matter (PM1, PM2.5, PM10) and gases (NO2, O3, SO2, CO) and uses algorithms that predict pollution 24 hours ahead with up to 95% verifiability. Its customer base exceeds 600 local governments and cities (including Hong Kong, Jakarta, Oslo and Granada) and corporates such as Philips, Virgin, Innogy, PwC, Veolia and Skanska. The company plans to scale its platform globally, open offices in the UK and US, and roughly double its ~35-person staff by the end of 2021 by hiring sales, marketing and engineering talent. Airly’s R&D is partnering with mobility companies to deploy sensor-equipped cars and scooters to improve spatial resolution. The business raised $3.3M in funding to support these expansion and R&D initiatives. Airly operates an AI-powered air quality platform that delivers ultra-local, predictive data using dense networks of sensors. Its sensors measure particulate matter (PM1, PM2.5, PM10) and gaseous compounds (NO2, SO2, O3, CO) and provide live access via a mobile app and online map. The company also offers an API for media, technology, and finance companies to access live global air-quality data. Airly’s sensors act as a street-level, real-time warning system for pollution for governments, companies and individuals. The company reports more than 10,000 data points in over 30 countries and counts over 400 local governments and cities (including Berlin, Jakarta, Oslo, Rome, Athens and Krakow) as customers, alongside corporates such as Philips, PwC, Motorola, Aviva, Veolia and Skanska. Led by CEO and co-founder Wiktor Warchałowski, Airly is based in Palo Alto, California and Krakow, Poland. The company intends to use the new funding to scale its platform globally.
