Alma is an AI-powered legal tech startup launched in October 2023 that aims to simplify the visa process for technologists, founders and researchers. It began by developing software sold to immigration law firms to improve service quality and, after several months of sales, the team decided to provide immigration services directly. The company offers personal legal advisors, speeds up document processing, and digitally organizes the entire immigration process. Alma leverages proprietary technology to automate repetitive tasks so lawyers can focus on strategy, and it employs its own immigration attorney. It positions itself alongside competitors such as Migrun, Boundless and Lawfully and aims to fast-track international talent into America’s tech ecosystem. Much of its recent funding will be used to hire for product and technology development.
