Alotta focuses on replacing diesel-powered generators at remote fish-farming sites with its floating solar technology. The company recently signed a 15-year power purchase agreement to deliver renewable electricity to Mowi Chile’s salmon-farming facility at Huar Norte in the Los Lagos region. Alotta maintains a dual business model: technology development and delivery through the Alotta brand, and power sales via the subsidiary Alotta Energy. Management highlights the systems’ reliability and low noise as key advantages for aquaculture operators. With Chile being the world’s second-largest salmon producer—with more than 600 farms that collectively burn over 60 million litres of diesel per year—Alotta sees significant expansion potential. Proceeds from its latest financing will fund the build-out of international operations, with Chile as the initial focus market.
