AlphaDraft operates a fantasy league platform for e-sports, initially focused on League of Legends with plans to expand to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 1, SMITE and an additional undisclosed title. The company offers paid contests and prize payouts and says it will pay out at least $5 million in cash and prizes this year. AlphaDraft is targeting 1 million active users by the end of the year and plans to use financing to boost prizes, advertising and marketing. Management says it will also pursue partnerships with game publishers to sponsor leagues. Todd Peterson, the CEO, previously sold enterprise software and worked in SaaS logistics prior to founding AlphaDraft. The company is positioning itself to compete alongside other fantasy gaming entrants in a growing e-sports market.
