AlphaPet Ventures is a Munich-based pet food and supplies company offering a wide range of food, accessories and services for dogs, cats, fish and horses through its brands ePetworld, pets Premium, Katzenland and Linentausch. The company employs more than 70 people. It raised €13m in financing comprised of a €10m equity investment and €3m in working capital. Heliad Equity Partners, Venturestars, Reimann Investors and Mountain Partners provided the €10m equity tranche. Deutsche Handelsbank supplied the €3m working capital facility. The company will use the funds to continue to expand operations. ePetWorld is a Munich, Germany-based online retailer of pet products that operates branded stores including Hundeland for dog owners and Katzenland for cat owners in Germany. Founded in 2012 by the Munich-based incubator Venture Stars, the company addresses the €19B European market for pet food and supplies. The business currently employs 30 people. According to reports, ePetWorld has received seven-figure funding. Backers included Point Nine Capital, Mountain Super Angel and Blumberg Capital. The company intends to use the new capital to further expand operations.
