Alveron Pharma

Overview
Alveron Pharma is a clinical-stage company developing OKL-1111, a synthetic agent intended to reverse anticoagulants and platelet inhibitors and prevent haematoma expansion in intracranial haemorrhage (ICH). OKL-1111 binds to a downstream clotting factor and is designed for rapid IV administration, potentially within 10 minutes of a diagnostic CT scan. The drug also reportedly reverses the effects of clopidogrel, for which there is currently no antidote. Founded in 2019 and based in Nijmegen, Netherlands, Alveron positions OKL-1111 as a first-line therapy to reduce door-to-needle time and improve clinical outcomes including mortality and morbidity. Financially, the company completed a €5.0M Series Seed extension (approx $5.28M) to accelerate development. Proceeds will support activities to ready OKL-1111 for further clinical studies aimed at demonstrating safety and proof-of-concept efficacy in patients.
