Archipelago provides an AI- and machine learning-driven platform, with human-in-the-loop verification, to digitize, enrich, and visualize commercial property risk data from unstructured documents, schematics, and images. The platform produces structured data and dashboards that brokers and underwriters use to underwrite, price, and share risk information across the insurance lifecycle. Since publicly launching in August 2020, Archipelago has put over 330,000 commercial properties on its platform, representing $2.3 trillion in insured value. More than 1,000 insurance brokers and underwriters at over 100 insurers have experienced the platform via customers’ placements. The company plans to invest in new product capabilities, scale engineering, data science, and customer-facing teams, and to globalize and expand beyond property owners and insurers in North America.
