Arialys Therapeutics is developing precision medicines that specifically block pathogenic autoantibodies in the brain to expand treatment options for neuropsychiatric disorders driven by autoimmunity. Its lead program, ART5803, is a therapeutic antibody designed to treat anti‑NMDA receptor encephalitis (ANRE) by blocking NMDAR autoantibodies. The company has generated preclinical proof‑of‑concept data in a nonhuman primate disease model showing ART5803 reverses encephalitis and reduces behavioral symptoms caused by NMDAR autoantibody pathogenicity. ART5803 has received orphan drug designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and Arialys purchased the asset from Astellas Pharma. The team plans to file an IND next year and advance ART5803 into the clinic for ANRE and autoimmune psychosis.
