  • K2 Therapeutics

    Led · Seed · Aug 2026

Founded in 2024 by MPM BioImpact, K2 Therapeutics builds a diversified pipeline by sourcing therapeutic assets worldwide and advancing them through disciplined drug development. The company’s portfolio includes eight therapeutic programs spanning multiple modalities, including antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and T-cell engagers (TCEs), with programs ranging from preclinical to clinical stage. K2 completed a $50 million seed financing from MPM BioImpact that has supported portfolio expansion and program advancement. Leadership changes accompanying the financing include the appointment of Dr. Ying Huang as CEO and Frank Neumann, M.D., serving as Chief Medical Officer. K2 plans to continue expanding its portfolio through disciplined asset acquisition, strategic capital deployment and focused development execution. The company presents operations tied to Boston and Singapore.

  • Crossbow Therapeutics

    Participated · Series B · Mar 2026

Crossbow Therapeutics is developing a portfolio of T-Bolt™ T-cell engager (TCE) therapies built from T-cell receptor-mimetic antibodies that target peptide–HLA (pHLA) complexes on cancer cells. Its lead program, CBX-250, is a first-in-class TCE targeting a pHLA specific to myeloid cancer cells and is being evaluated in the ongoing CROSSCHECK-001 Phase 1 trial in relapsed and refractory myeloid malignancies. The company is advancing CBX-663, a TCE targeting a TERT-derived pHLA, toward IND submission and a planned Phase 1 start in Q3 2026 for multiple hematologic and solid tumors. Crossbow positions its T-Bolt™ platform as broadly adaptable to address intracellular cancer targets previously unreachable by antibodies. The company will present preclinical data for both programs at the AACR 2026 Annual Meeting and expects initial clinical data from CBX-250 around the end of 2026. The recent $77 million Series B is intended to fund completion of CBX-250’s Phase 1 and to accelerate initiation and development of additional T-Bolt™ programs.

  • Protego Biopharma

    Participated · Series B · Dec 2025

Protego Biopharma engineers first-in-class pharmacological chaperones that stabilize misfolded proteins, preventing toxic amyloid accumulation at the root of systemic amyloid diseases. Its lead candidate, PROT-001, targets immunoglobulin light chains and is being advanced toward a pivotal trial for AL amyloidosis, a rare and often fatal condition with limited treatment options. The company’s platform, grounded in human genetics and protein-folding biology, positions it to address a broad spectrum of protein misfolding disorders beyond AL amyloidosis. Protego’s approach aims to deliver disease-modifying rather than symptomatic therapies, representing a potential paradigm shift in this field. Backed by a syndicate of blue-chip life-science investors, the company is now well capitalized following its Series B raise. Although still pre-revenue, Protego benefits from renewed investor confidence and plans to use the new capital primarily for clinical development and regulatory activities related to PROT-001.

  • Umoja Biopharma

    Participated · Series C · Jan 2025

Umoja Biopharma is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing in vivo cell therapies to expand the reach, effectiveness, and access of CAR T treatments. Its VivoVec™ in vivo gene delivery technology is designed to empower a patient’s own immune system to fight disease by delivering therapeutic constructs directly in vivo. The company’s lead program is CD22 UB-VV400, which it plans to advance in multiple oncology and autoimmune clinical studies. Umoja intends to use proceeds from its recent financing to advance this in vivo CAR T pipeline. The company is led by CEO Andrew Scharenberg and is based in Seattle, Washington. In conjunction with the financing, Umoja added Campbell Murray, M.D., as a new board member. Umoja Biopharma leverages proprietary integrated technologies to reprogram immune cells in vivo to create next-generation immunotherapies for solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. Its platform includes CAR T-cell adapter-mediated tumor-targeting (TumorTag) and in vivo modification of immune cells (VivoVec and RACR/CAR). The company’s two lead programs are TumorTag UB-TT170 for folate receptor-expressing solid tumors and VivoVec UB-VV100 for CD19+ hematological cancers. Umoja will use proceeds from a $210M Series B to continue development of its integrated technologies and advance these product candidates into clinical development. The company also plans to build internal manufacturing capabilities to support preclinical and clinical development and to expand its team. Recent leadership hires include Nushmia Khokhar as Chief Medical Officer, Irena Melnikova as Chief Financial Officer and David Fontana as Chief Business and Strategy Officer, and Umoja is establishing a manufacturing operations site in Boulder, Colorado. Umoja Biopharma is a Seattle-based, pre-clinical biotechnology company pioneering an integrated in vivo immunotherapy platform. Its platform combines three core components: the VivoVec delivery platform, RACR/CAR payload architecture, and the TumorTag platform. VivoVec acts in vivo to generate a population of cancer-fighting VivoCAR T cells that can be controlled by the RACR/CAR system using exogenously administered, FDA-approved drugs. TumorTag molecules can be used in combination with VivoCAR T cells to direct cancer-killing T cells to tumors and their critical supporting cells. Led by co-founders Andy Scharenberg, M.D., and Michael Jensen, M.D., the company aims to re-engineer a patient's immune system to attack both hematologic and solid organ-based tumors with simplicity and cost that enable widespread implementation. The $53M Series A financing will enable Umoja to advance its platform and therapeutic programs to early clinical development, attract talent and invest in research.

  • āshibio

    Led · Seed · Jun 2024

āshibio is a privately held biotechnology company developing novel therapeutics for bone and connective tissue disorders. Founded in 2022 by CEO Pankaj Bhargava and the MPM BioImpact team and based in Brisbane, Calif., the company exited stealth with $40 million in seed and Series A financing. Its lead program targets fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP) and is based on the discovery that MMP-9 may be a novel target; āshibio licensed andecaliximab, a humanized anti–MMP-9 antibody, from Gilead Sciences. Andecaliximab has been administered to approximately 1,000 patients in prior clinical trials, received Orphan Drug designations from the EMA and the FDA, and āshibio's IND for the asset was cleared by the FDA in March 2024. The company plans to initiate a Phase 2/3 trial of andecaliximab in the second half of 2024 in patients with FOP. āshibio intends to advance a pipeline addressing other forms of heterotopic ossification and connective tissue pathologies by leveraging emerging biology and novel mechanisms. Senior leadership hires include CSO Victoria Smith and CMO Deborah Wenkert, and Agent Capital partner Preston Noon joined the board as part of the financing.
