- Dayra Therapeutics
Led · Equity · Nov 2025
Dayra Therapeutics is a newly launched biotechnology company pioneering a platform for discovering and optimizing oral macrocyclic peptides that selectively modulate disease-relevant proteins. Spun out of Versant Ventures’ Frontier Discovery Engine in 2024, the startup couples its proprietary macrocycle discovery capabilities with computational design and modeling. The initial focus is on high-value immunology targets, though the technology is applicable to additional therapeutic areas. Dayra’s team draws on deep macrocycle drug-development experience, and the company has already advanced molecules against several targets during its seed-stage work. A strategic collaboration with Biogen will supply validation, development, and commercialization capabilities, while giving Biogen an option to acquire resulting candidates. The company has secured more than $70 million in committed funding, providing a multi-year runway to progress its pipeline toward preclinical and clinical milestones.
- Gate Bioscience
Participated · Series B · Nov 2025
Gate Bioscience is pioneering "molecular gates," proprietary small molecules designed to remove disease-causing proteins before they can exert harmful effects. The company’s discovery platform combines a library of gate compounds, secretion-focused assays, and expertise in secretory-pathway biology to rapidly generate selective candidates for inflammatory and neurological disorders. Led by Co-Founder and CEO Jordi Mata-Fink, Ph.D., Gate is currently advancing its lead molecular gate programs toward first-in-human clinical studies. Beyond these lead assets, the firm plans to broaden its pipeline across additional inflammatory and other therapeutic areas. Since inception, Gate Bioscience has raised a total of $135 million in venture funding, providing a significant capital base for R&D and early clinical work. The fresh Series B funds will specifically support clinical entry of lead programs and further platform expansion.
- Dualitas Therapeutics
Led · Series A · Sep 2025
Founded in 2023, Dualitas Therapeutics is building a pipeline of bispecific antibodies that simultaneously engage two immune-cell targets to achieve greater efficacy than single-target monoclonal antibodies. Its internally developed DualScreen platform scans the entire cell surface (“surfaceome”) to identify hundreds of thousands of target pairings and select the most promising therapeutic combinations using a proximity-biology approach. The two lead preclinical candidates are DTX-103, aimed first at asthma and other allergic diseases, and DTX-102, initially focused on rheumatoid arthritis; specific targets for both remain undisclosed. One of these programs is expected to be advanced in-house, while the other may be partnered with a larger pharmaceutical company. Management plans to move the internal lead into clinical trials within 18–24 months and will evaluate clinical differentiation versus current standards of care to guide trial design. The company’s scientific leadership includes co-founders Forbes Huang (COO/CBO) and Greg Lazar (CSO), with Rich Murray serving as interim CEO.
- AllRock Bio
Led · Series A · Sep 2025
AllRock Bio is a Natick, Massachusetts–based clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on cardiopulmonary and fibrotic diseases. Its lead asset, ROC-101, is an orally administered, first-in-class pan-rho-associated protein kinase (ROCK1/2) inhibitor licensed exclusively from Sanofi. Phase 1 data showed favorable safety, tolerability and no associated hypotension, supporting advancement into Phase 2a testing in PAH and ILD-PH patients. The upcoming ROCSTAR Phase 2a trial will study ROC-101 in combination with standard of care and is expected to begin in late 2025. Management includes veterans from CinCor Pharma, which was acquired by AstraZeneca for up to $1.8 billion, providing significant drug-development experience. AllRock was incubated by JucaBio and is building an expanding pipeline of ROCK-targeting therapies to address large unmet needs in life-threatening cardiopulmonary conditions.
- Granite Bio
Led · Series A · Apr 2025
Granite Bio is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing first-in-class antibody therapeutics that target root drivers of inflammation, autoimmunity and fibrotic disease. Its pipeline includes two lead programs: GRT-001, which depletes pro-inflammatory monocytes and is in Phase 1a in healthy volunteers with a Phase 1b IBD study planned later this year; and GRT-002, an IL-3 blocker in preclinical development expected to enter clinical trials in 2026. Both lead molecules were developed in collaboration with Versant’s Ridgeline Discovery Engine in Basel and originated from the laboratory of Professor Matthias Mack. The company emerged from stealth with $100 million in financing and is backed by leading healthcare venture firms. Management is led by CEO Patrick Loustau and an experienced executive and scientific team with deep immunology and drug-development backgrounds.
