Assist is a conversational service that surfaces options like rides, food delivery, restaurant reservations, couriers and hotel bookings through SMS, Facebook Messenger, Slack and Telegram rather than a standalone app. The product aggregates partner APIs and handles payments via Stripe on its site, charging no additional markup, service fee, or subscription. The company runs its bot without human operators and plans to scale by relying on APIs and artificial intelligence as a convenience layer over many on‑demand services. Assist intends to monetize through affiliate fees for referrals and by offering paid featured placements to vendors. Founders Robert Stephens (founder of GeekSquad) and Shane Mac (former director of product at Zaarly) began building Assist in May, and the product saw immediate user interest upon launch.
