The company’s platform has been piloted with the Ministry of Justice and Safety and is in use by the Dutch National Police and the Municipality of Amsterdam for criminal investigations and Bibob screening. Founded in 2025 in Eindhoven by Hugo Sleegers, Tijs Bronnenberg, and Marijn van Aerle, Avendar positions itself as a sovereign European alternative to large foreign intelligence vendors. It aims to reduce manual investigative processes, increase case throughput, and improve the speed and quality of decision-making for public agencies. With the recent seed financing, Avendar plans to scale its engineering and product capabilities and prepare for broader European market expansion.
