Overview
Aviceda is a Cambridge, MA‑based, clinical‑stage biotech focused on ophthalmic and broader immunomodulatory therapeutics built on its High Affinity Ligands of Siglecs (HALOS™) nanotechnology platform. Its lead asset, AVD‑104, is an intravitreal glycan‑coated nanoparticle with a dual mechanism that repolarizes inflammatory microglia/macrophages and inhibits complement cascade amplification. AVD‑104 showed proof‑of‑concept efficacy in a Phase 2a trial completed in early 2024 and is being evaluated in a fully enrolled Phase 2b/3 trial with 12‑month data expected in the second half of 2025. The company intends to use recent financing proceeds to complete the ongoing Phase 2b/3 and to support a planned pivotal Phase 3 program, and to expand into other ophthalmic indications. Aviceda also reports a broader pipeline across ophthalmology and other therapeutic areas including immunology, fibrosis, oncology, and neurology. Board and governance changes accompanying recent financing are intended to support late‑stage development and commercialization planning.
