Axtra3D is a Charlotte, NC-based developer and producer of 3D printing machines for the additive manufacturing industry. Led by CEO Gianni Zitelli, the company’s first product is the Lumia X1 3D printer, which combines stereolithography (SLA) and digital light processing (DLP/LCD) into a single machine. Axtra3D raised $6.25M in a Series A funding round led by HZG Group and Frank Carsten Herzog, with participation from Steve Grundahl. The company intends to use the funds to build processes and supply chains ahead of its upcoming market entry. It also plans to attract new talent to its offices in Italy and the US. Axtra3D aims to give customers a choice of both SLA and DLP workflows in one product where they previously had to choose.
