BioflyTech specializes in breeding and processing the black soldier fly to obtain high-protein ingredients for pet food and aquaculture feed. The company currently operates a facility in Palas de Rei capable of producing about 12,000 t of insect-based product per year. It plans a major plant expansion, recently declared a Strategic Industrial Project (PIE) by the Xunta de Galicia, which will invest more than €100 M to lift capacity to 62,000 t annually. The enlargement is expected to create roughly 150 direct and indirect jobs. To support the commercial launch of its product portfolio and prepare for this scale-up, BioflyTech has secured a €4 M equity infusion from existing investors. The firm’s backers include CDTI-Innvierte, Xesgalicia, and Moira Capital. This latest financing fully covers the amount sought in the round, reinforcing BioflyTech’s balance sheet ahead of the expansion.
