Overview
Bioscan Research develops non-invasive medical devices aimed at early detection of brain injuries, with its flagship product CEREBO that uses near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and machine learning to detect intracranial injuries. The company says CEREBO can identify traumatic brain injuries before visible symptoms appear, helping clinicians detect injury during the critical treatment window. Bioscan recorded 5x revenue (or growth) over the past 12 months and aims to grow threefold over the next year. The startup plans to expand its presence in India and overseas markets and pursue additional regulatory approvals. The $1 million seed raise will fund market expansion, product upgrades and creation of new intellectual property. Bioscan was founded in 2017 by Anupam Lavania and Shilpa Malik and is based in Mumbai.
