Bisly
Volta tn 1, Tallinn, Harju maakond, 10412, Estonia
Overview
Bisly offers a cloud-based, AI-powered smart building automation platform that combines integrated hardware and software with a patented digital twin to continuously optimise building performance. Its platform simplifies sales, installation, and setup, can cut costs by up to 50% versus conventional systems, and is compatible with third-party devices to avoid vendor lock-in. The system manages energy use and indoor environments for new and existing residential and commercial properties and includes centralised configuration, digital-twin diagnostics, AI-powered BMS, and reporting tools for developers and property managers. Bisly operates across Estonia, the UK, Germany, and Poland and already leads the Estonian market, with its automation systems installed in the majority of new residential apartments sold in 2024. The company plans to expand in the DACH region and the UK, open a full office in Warsaw, expand technical and commercial support on the ground, and launch a wireless product line for retrofitting existing buildings. Bisly works through a growing network of partners including Endover, Liven, Crown Estate, Bonava, Pro Kapital, Reterra, Hansab, Onninen and One-Gruppe. Financially, the company tripled its core revenue last year and is on course for similar growth in 2025. According to Bisly, each tonne of CO₂ avoided using its technology can be up to six times more cost-effective than achieving the same reduction through transport electrification. Bisly provides smart construction and building automation solutions that combine custom hardware components with an open software platform. The company manufactures hardware that integrates with different brands to avoid vendor lock-in and complements its Single Cloud Platform. Its software includes a patented digital twins system created from a building’s floor plans and specifications to accelerate setup, continuously track consumption, and optimise efficiency. Bisly says this combination addresses scalability, cost, and integration issues in smart buildings and improves energy conservation and financial savings over time. The company has appointed Ants Vill as CEO. Bisly raised €6.2M in a Series A and intends to use the funds to roll out its scalable smart system across Europe, with particular focus on Germany and the United Kingdom where it has opened offices and begun courting high-profile partnerships. Bisly builds smart construction solutions and manufactures custom hardware components, including specially-developed sensors that install quickly. Its open software platform uses bank-grade encryption and open-standard technology to enable scalability, adaptability, and reduced total project costs. The company emphasizes customization and integration so projects are tailored to client needs. Led by CEO Siim Vips, Bisly combines hardware and software to deliver building-automation systems. The firm intends to widen market engagement across Europe, with emphasis on the Nordics, DACH region, and the UK. In its founding market of Estonia, Bisly captured over 25% of the total building-automation market in less than five years. Bisly develops intelligent building technology — controllers and automation software — to improve energy efficiency in residential and office buildings. Its system can make energy consumption up to twice as efficient, with claims of saving up to 50% of housing energy use while maintaining air quality and intelligent lighting. Founded in 2018 in Estonia, Bisly has installed more than 20,000 controllers domestically, executing over 500,000 automated decisions every day. The company has raised €1.7 million to fund an aggressive European expansion and has received €700K from Enterprise Estonia’s Green ICT programme. Investors include angel backers, real estate sector investors, EfTEN Capital and the creators of Pipedrive. Bisly plans to establish a German subsidiary and enter Germany, Scandinavia, Austria, Switzerland and pursue pilot projects in Asia.
