Candid offers a subscription-based platform that centralizes wholesale communication, invoices, storefronts and orders for brands and retailers. Sellers create storefronts with visuals and company facts while buyers view catalogs and place orders through a wholesale-specific cart showing approval status, payment terms, estimated delivery and integrated messaging. The company also provides a fintech product, Candid Pay, which lets sellers accept credit-card payments. Founder Avery Bloom started Candid after facing wholesale coordination challenges while growing his apparel brand North of West; he co-founded the company with Dave Lowensohn. Candid employs nine people, mainly in Portland, and recently raised $2 million in new funding. Backers in the round include Amplify, TenOneTen, Stage VP, SaaS Ventures and First Row Partners, adding to earlier investment from Cascade Seed Fund and Pacific Northwest angel investors. The new funding will be used to grow the team and fuel marketing, and Candid plans to launch a Squarespace partnership allowing Squarespace customers to add Candid as a third-party extension within weeks.
