Cartagenia offers Bench Lab, a medical‑device SaaS platform for interpretation support, lab reporting and data sharing for clinical genetic testing. The platform supports NGS, Sanger and array testing across applications including constitutional and rare disease, prenatal diagnosis and screening, and germline and somatic oncology assays. The suite includes Bench Portal for electronic assay requisition and referrer reporting and tools to integrate with LIMS and EHR systems. The company serves more than 120 labs and clinics across North America, Europe and Australia. Cartagenia plans to use new funding to commercialize the Bench platform in key markets including North America and Europe and to extend its product portfolio in Oncology and Reproductive Health. The company is led by CEO Herman Verrelst and is based in Leuven, Belgium and Cambridge, MA. Cartagenia delivers diagnostic knowledge, software and database systems, and related services to enable genetic labs and clinicians to perform clinically relevant genetic analyses efficiently. Its products support high-quality genetic interpretation and counseling for patients and carers. The company was spun out of K.U. Leuven in 2008 and is based in Leuven, Belgium. Cartagenia recently raised €2.2m in funding from existing shareholders PMV/VINNOF, Gemma Frisius Fund and the founders (who together contributed €1.1m) and Euronext-listed Quest for Growth (committing €1.1m). It intends to use the funds to further develop its market presence, to start up an office in the United States and to invest in a new product line. The company is led by CEO Herman Verrelst and Operations Director Bert Coessens, Ph.D.
